Nose block
Nasal Congestion
Unilateral Nasal congestion (one sided) may be due to a Deviated nasal septum or a swelling inside the nose commonly referred to as Polyp.
Bilateral nasal obstruction (meaning nasal block on both sides) may be due to enlargement of tissues (called Turbinates) inside the nose. Prolonged usage of nasal decongestant drops may lead to rebound nasal congestion. An enlarged adenoid is a common cause for mouth breathing, snoring & nose block in children.
A clear one sided watery discharge may be a symptom of a more serious condition called CSF ( Cerebro Spinal Fluid) Rhinorrhoea. This is a condition when the fluid surrounding the brain called CSF leaks through the nose.
