& DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

A comprehensive ENT check up for all disorders pertaining to:

Ears: Complaints pertaining to the Ear include discharge, hearing loss, pain, ringing (called Tinnitus) & dizziness. Following a detailed history, the ears are examined either with an Otoscope or a Microscope to make the proper diagnosis. Minor procedures like cleaning the ears (for Wax) can be done using a suction. 

Nose: Patients presenting with nasal problems have complaints of Nose block, running nose, sneezing, nasal mucus, problems with smell, nasal bleed & pain with tenderness in the sinus regions of the face. Nasal examination is done with speculum. A speculum however limits examination to the front of the nasal passages. A more detailed examination is done with an Endoscope.

Throat: Sore throat (a scratchy feeling), Throat pain, difficulty to swallow & change of voice are some of the common throat complaints.   

Neck Swellings : Neck swellings can be due to numerous causes. Neck swellings could arise from Lymph glands, Salivary glands & Thyroid.
Cysts are fluid filled swellings & could be developmental in nature (meaning congenital). The ENT Surgeon has the expertise & skills to identify the nature of swelling & proceed with treatment.

Minor procedures includes:

  • Ear cleaning (for wax & infective conditions)
  • Foreign body removal from the ears, nose & throat
  • Control of nasal bleed

Evaluation of patients having Dizziness/Vertigo includes:

  • A detailed case history
  • A thorough clinical examination
  • Further tests depending on the need.

The Diagnostic tests performed include:

Endoscopy of the nasal cavities is done for patients having symptoms of nasal block, sinusitis, nasal bleed to name a few

Endoscopy of the Larynx (Voice box) for patients having change of voice, throat pain, difficulty to swallow  or other related throat complaints 

Endoscopic/ microscopic examination of the ear  for accurate diagnosis of middle ear Infection (Chronic Otitis Media), A  microscope is a very useful tool to perform ear cleaning.
